• What is Escape?

    Escape is an intuitive, comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) system designed from the ground up specifically for the unique needs of California school business. The system was designed as a complete, fully integrated solution, running in an online and real-time environment.

    Why has OUSD chosen to implement Escape?

    • The District conducted an evaluation process in search of an IFAS replacement which started in April, 2016.
    • In July 2016, District leadership determined ESCAPE TECHNOLOGY was the best solution meeting the majority of Finance, Payroll and Talent needs.
    • The OUSD Board of Education approved the contract with ACOE and ESCAPE TECHNOLOGY in October, 2016.


    What are some of the benefits of Escape?

    • The new system is integrated with and hosted by Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE) which will improve support and accountability.
    • The vendor has recent, applicable implementation experience in Alameda County.
    • The new system has proven expertise and compatibility with California’s K-12 education and financial reporting systems.
    • The new system is an integrated solution for Budgeting & Accounting, Purchasing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Position Control, Retirement, Human Resources and Credentialing.
    • Fully compliant with California school accounting practices
    • Employee portal for payroll, benefits and other employment information

Escape News

  • We have upgraded OUSD business systems by replacing IFAS with Escape. Escape replaces all current IFAS functions as of July 1, 2018.
