    The Office of Labor Management and Employee Relations is committed to serving Oakland families by cultivating a work environment in OUSD that ensures that every student thrives.  We are dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to employees, school communities, and District leadership in furtherance of OUSD’s Pathway to Excellence Strategic Plan.  


    OUSD partners with seven (7) bargaining units representing approximately 86% of all District employees: AFSCME, BCT, CSEA, OEA, SEIU, Teamsters and UAOS. The LMER office collaborates with our labor partners in the development and negotiation of collectively bargained agreements.  We also provide support and facilitate all District school sites and departments in their partnership with our labor unions and union leadership.

Pay Increases - 2022

    As stated previously in this message, staff whose labor unions have completed negotiations with the District are receiving pay increases and one-time payments. Please see the letters below that correspond with various union or employee groups for details about this increase in compensation.
