Hello Sankofa United Families.
Congrats on a GREAT start to the school year! I am so happy seeing your kids learning, playing and making new friends!
You can expect a message from me via ParentSquare most Monday’s, but I wanted to send a special mid-week message on this first week.
Our full day schedule starts next week (Monday Aug 15th)!
-
Classes begin at 8:30. (Children may be dropped off after 8:15 when our supervision begins.)
-
Classes dismiss at 2:45 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
-
Classes dismiss at 1:30 on Wednesday.
Since we have added a TK class and our enrollment has grown in all grades, pick up and drop off time is even busier. To keep this a safe and stress-free experience, please review and follow our guidelines. Please do NOT:
-
Double park on the street
-
Leave your car unattended in the traffic circle
-
Pick up a child from the “inside” lane of the circle
Here’s a few other reminders:
-
This Friday (8/12) at 3:00 PM there is a “Rally & Street Party for Safe Streets” at MLK & 55th. Please join if you can and wear your Sankofa United shirt!
-
If you missed it, here is a link to my 2022-23 welcome letter with lots of important information.
-
All month Shewhat Cafe, across the street from school, is donating 15% to Sankofa United if you mention “Sankofa” when paying your bill! Click here for a flier.
Here’s a link to all communications this school year, if you ever want to look back to see what you’ve missed.
Thanks!
