Ms. Ada Carter, MME
With nearly 20 years of experience in education and active involvement with service organizations, Ms. Carter became the Principal of Sequoia Elementary in July 2019.
In her academic career, she has provided instructional coaching, leadership, professional development and supervision. Prior to becoming a school administrator, she was an instructional coach and music department chair. She holds two degrees in Music Education from University of North Texas, completed an administrator’s certificate from McDaniel college and is currently pursuing a certificate in leadership from Harvard Business School. She also completed extensive hours of training in culturally relevant teaching, trauma-sensitive teaching practices, restorative justice, arts integration, differentiated instruction, cognitive coaching and kinesthetic learning.
Ms. Carter and her husband of 10 years have two children, Coda (third grade) and Clinton (1st grade). As a family they enjoy music, snowboarding and long walks, where nature becomes the most beautiful distraction.
