Amy Carozza
Amy Carozza is the principal of Coliseum College Prep Academy. She joined CCPA in 2010-11 as an Assistant Principal and has been the Principal since 2011. Ms. Carozza is committed to supporting her students to become the happiest versions of themselves. For most students, this means supporting them in being proud of themselves and working hard for what they want. For many CCPA students, the goal is completing college and/ or attaining a career of choice. Ms. Carozza is committed to building an inclusive school community that has the resources to care for our students, families, teachers and staff at the level they deserve.
Professionally, prior to CCPA, Ms Carozza taught in Oakland at Elmhurst Community Prep Middle School for five years. Prior to that, Ms. Carozza also taught and coordinated a GED program serving homeless, parenting and incarcerated youth for over 5 years. Additionally, she taught community college classes and teacher credentialing classes. Ms Carozza has worked in many school roles including after school programing and classroom support roles across the pre-K to college spectrum. As a teacher, Ms. Carozza mentored over a dozen teachers. Ms. Carozza has a Master's degree in Special Education from San Francisco State and a Bachelor's degree in American Studies and Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Carozza is dedicated to growing and serving our school community as a unit including all of the children and adults in our community.
Ms. Carozza resides within 2 miles of CCPA with her husband who teaches kindergarten and her two children who both attend CCPA.
