Students and Parents,
Due to COVID-19 and continued restrictions on large gatherings, our OUSD school campuses will not be offering in-person exams for the SAT on May 8 and June 5 to ensure the safety of students and staff. Their health and safety are our priority.
There will be no In-Person SAT exam on May 8, 2021 and June 5, 2021. We will reassess future in-person College Board exams and keep you posted on the status of future College Board exams in August, 2021.
- Scheduled SAT exams for Saturday, May 8 and Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Oakland Technical High School have been cancelled for in person testing.
Students and Parents:
We have alerted the College Board that OUSD will not host the SAT exams for May 8 and June 5 and you should receive notification. For more information regarding make up exams, alternative test sites or reimbursements, please contact the College Board.
Lastly, we know that many of our students have spent countless hours preparing for these exams, and we regret that we cannot offer in-person testing or computer based testing (CBT) at this time. Fortunately, many colleges and universities around the country have waived the need for SAT/ACT scores in response to the pandemic, as many in-person tests have been cancelled for safety reasons. There are over 1450 accredited, 4 year colleges and universities with ACT/SAT-Optional Policies for fall, 2021 admissions. Here are two links (Fair Test and NACAC Test-Optional Colleges) with more information on test optional policies at participating colleges and universities.
We are grateful to know that the vast majority of colleges and universities attended by OUSD graduates, such as the UC and CSCU systems, are on these lists of test-optional schools. If you have any questions, please contact your prospective colleges and universities.
Lastly, Just a reminder that both CSU's and UC's are test-optional for the Class of 2022. You can read more here:
