Summer Programming K-8 Full Day Hub Model
This year, OUSD is partnering with community agencies across the city to offer full day summer programming. Students will receive a combination of intervention supports focused on Math and English Language Arts taught by certificated district teachers and enrichment activities provided by lead community agencies. DATES: Mon. June 19th – July 14th (4 week programs); July 21st (5 week programs).
Early Childhood Education Centers
Our centers provide year round preschool services for 3 -5 year olds (including summer) at 15 locations. We also provide Summer Enrichment for TK–5th graders at 10 locations throughout the city. Please contact the ECE office at 510-273-1590 for more information.
High School Credit Recovery
Credit Recovery is offered to upper class high school students in need of academic credit recovery in order to graduate on time. Contact your child’s high school counselor for more information or see this flyer.
Site Based High School Summer Programs
There are many options for your high school student to stay engaged during the summer. Most OUSD High Schools custom design their summer programs with the use of Measure N funding. Options include Summer Internship Programs, Intervention, Summer Bridge and Course Completion Boot Camp. Please contact your child’s guidance counselor for more information.
OUSD with the East Bay Consortium and Merritt College offer the Pre-Collegiate Academy to Oakland youth to strengthen students’ mathematical and college readiness skills through summer enrichment courses and support services offered during the academic year to increase college eligibility. Programs For Exceptional Children
This program provides extended school year learn-ing opportunities for severely handicapped students in accordance with their Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Contact the PEC Office at 510-879-8382.
The OUSD Refugee/Asylee program provides summer academic and enrichment opportunities for newcomer Refugee students K–12 and makes referrals to community-based programs for additional support. Contact Nate Dunstan at 510-273-1661 or email@example.com.
Summer Pre-K Camp
In partnership with First Five of Alameda County and Oakland Fund for Children and Youth, OUSD offers a Pre-K camp for children entering kinder/transitional-kindergarten, with limited pre-school experience. Contact Maria Sujo in the Expanded Learning Department at 510-879-2760 or visit our webpage.
