Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) Nutrition Services proudly offers free meal service to every student enrolled in early childhood as well as TK-12 schools. Offering menus that meet USDA nutrition requirements supports our efforts to ensure that all of our students can thrive. In addition, our department participates in educational programs such as Harvest of the Month that support students in developing healthy lifestyles.
Our approximately 300 employees work at school sites as well as our largest kitchen and department offices located at the Central Kitchen, Instructional Farm, and Education Center on 2850 West Street in Oakland. Some schools have the capacity to cook food on site, and those with smaller cafeteria spaces reheat pre-cooked meals.
