The Blueprint for Quality Schools is a long-term plan for meeting the changing facility, program and educational needs of the district. This plan will contain a needs assessment for every school in the district, as well as recommendations on school reconfiguration and rehabilitation to provide equity, quality and opportunity for ALL OUSD students. Families, community members, and an experienced team of professionals will work together to develop the plan for creating better spaces and programs for our children to thrive.
5 Dialogues will be held across the district for all community members to attend. Initial 30-minute presentation on data and findings to this point. Followed by break out small group discussions where community members will be asked to fill out a questionnaire individually and as a group.
Second round of 5 large public meetings. Initial 30-minute presentation on the draft options that have been created in coordination with the Blueprint Advisory group. Followed by break out small group discussions where community members fill out a questionnaire individually and as a group.
Initial presentation of recommendations. Receive feedback from the Blueprint Advisory Group on edits or changes they believe should be made to the final recommendations. Attempt to reach group consensus around the final recommendations to be presented to the board of education.
Thank you to all who joined us on June 17 for the first Blueprint for Quality Schools Retreat: Learning from the Past. Nearly 50 OUSD students, families, community members and staff came together at the retreat to examine OUSD history and work on finding the best ways forward for the District.
