  • April 26: Spring Picture Day!

    The Spring Picture Day has been rescheduled to Wednesday April 26 due to SBAC testing. On April 26, ALL students' pictures will be taken during PE classes. Pictures will be sent home later with all students for your review, purchase or return. You do NOT preorder photo packages in Spring. You may also pay for pictures online using the Picture Day ID: BY456047Q0. Questions? Call Lifetouch at 866-955-8342.

  • April 27: Open House 6-7PM

    Please plan to attend Montera's Open House 4/27. Come see what your student has been doing this year, view the other classrooms to get an idea on what your student will be doing next year, and support the 8th graders by purchasing something yummy to eat. See you 4/27!

  • May 3: Last Day to Order Yearbook!

    Only 3 Days left to purchase during lunch: Wednesday, April 26, Friday, April 28 and LAST DAY, Wednesday, May 3rd! Yearbook are $35. You must pre-order your book. To buy one, bring your cash or a check (made out to Montera PTO) to the MUR at lunch. The Montera yearbook has 70 color pages filled with pictures from clubs/teams/school activities.   • May 12: End of the Year Dance

    The student council is excited to announce we are hosting an End of the Year Dance with a beach theme! The dance will be on May 12th from 4-6 in the MUR. We will have free popcorn and baked goods, shaved ice, a great DJ and the possibility of a photobooth. Tickets are just $5 and will be sold on May 10th-12th during lunch.     Montera will be hosting its Fourth Annual Career Day! This year, it will take place on Wednesday, May 31st.   • Montera OUSD Middle School League Champions!

    CONGRATULATIONS to the Montera Girls Basketball Team for winning 1st Place in the OUSD Middle School League. The Montera Girls Soccer Teams also won 1st and 2nd Place in the OUSD Middle School League. In addition, our Montera Cheer Team for won 1st Place in Cheer and also won 1st Place in Dance. GO TOROS!

  • Max Gochman: A Spelling Champion!

    Max Gochman finished in fourth place in the Alameda County Spelling Bee on March 24, 2017, following his first place finish during the OUSD Spelling Bee, which he's won two years straight. Congratulations, Max!

  • 2017-2018 OUSD Calendar Released!

    The 2017-18 School Year Calendar is now available on the Oakland Unified School District website at www.ousd.org/districtcalendar. The first day of school is Monday, August 21, 2017 and the last day is Thursday, June 7, 2018.

  • 8th Grade Families-We need your help with 8th Grade Activities!

    8th grade is a special year and there are several events to look forward to: the 8th grade picnic, dance and promotion! Parents and students need to raise money to pay for these events.We also need volunteers to help plan and work at these events.

We NEED your HELP!
 We've only met about 40% of our budget goal for the 2016-2017 school year, and funding requests keep rolling in -- without your support we won't be able to keep funding the commitments the school has come to rely on us for.
