  • Montera OUSD Middle School League Champions!

    CONGRATULATIONS to the Montera Girls Basketball Team for winning 1st Place in the OUSD Middle School League. The Montera Girls Soccer Teams also won 1st and 2nd Place in the OUSD Middle School League. In addition, our Montera Cheer Team for won 1st Place in Cheer and also won 1st Place in Dance. GO TOROS!

  • Max Gochman: A Spelling Champion!

    Max Gochman finished in fourth place in the Alameda County Spelling Bee on March 24, 2017, following his first place finish during the OUSD Spelling Bee, which he's won two years straight. Congratulations, Max!

  • April 27: Open House 6-7PM

    Please plan to attend Montera's Open House 4/27. Come see what your student has been doing this year, view the other classrooms to get an idea on what your student will be doing next year, and support the 8th graders by purchasing something yummy to eat. See you 4/27!

  • Art In Action!

    The "Art in Action Club" a former once per week lunch group, now meets daily. Club advisors are Ms. Walton & Ms. Saephan. The group numbers 7-14 depending their activity with other clubs. The "Leprechaun Made Me Do It" was custom tee design by each student. This spirited group may wear "The Leprechaun Made Me Do It" tees as Toro gear during "Spirit Week" March 27-March 30.

  • 2017-2018 OUSD Calendar Released!

    The 2017-18 School Year Calendar is now available on the Oakland Unified School District website at www.ousd.org/districtcalendar. The first day of school is Monday, August 21, 2017 and the last day is Thursday, June 7, 2018.

    Be sure to read the latest issue of the Toro Times - our newest (and completely student-run) school newspaper. The first issue was distributed during advisory last Friday. You may read the newspaper online on the Toro Times page (under "NEWS") on this website.

    Did you know last year Montera received over $7000 from programs such as eScript and Lucky Share Cards? This year, Montera has only received $500 from these types of organizations. You can help Montera to bridge our budget gap by signing up for eScript today. It only takes 5 minutes and once you are signed up, just enter your telephone # at the checkout stand each time you shop and Montera will be awarded a portion of your purchase! How easy is that?

We NEED your HELP!
 We've only met about 40% of our budget goal for the 2016-2017 school year, and funding requests keep rolling in -- without your support we won't be able to keep funding the commitments the school has come to rely on us for.

  • 8th Grade Families-We need your help with 8th Grade Activities!

    8th grade is a special year and there are several events to look forward to: the 8th grade picnic, dance and promotion! Parents and students need to raise money to pay for these events.We also need volunteers to help plan and work at these events.
