The Visual Art Academy at Oakland High School, known as VAAMP, is an award-winning “School-within-a-school.” Since 1991, VAAMP has attracted students with its strong visual art career focus and college preparatory program. The program is broad yet rigorous so that students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to make informed career and post-high school choices. Students select art courses from their area of interest: fine art, mural painting, and fashion design, to name a few. A dedicated staff, headed by VAAMP Director Daniel Spinka, works closely to provide cutting-edge knowledge to students. To learn more about Oakland High's Visual Arts Academy , go to www.vaamp.org.
