    We are looking for passionate and dedicated educators to join OUSD as we build the nation's first Full Service Community District to provide students with wrap-around services that help them become college, career, and community ready. We are seeking General and Special Education teachers, especially in Math, Sciences and bilingual Spanish, as well as Special Education support staff (Para-Educators; Instructional Support Specialists), Resource Specialists, Classified Substitutes, Academic Mentors, and more.     March 22 Credential Program Fair


    Want to teach or learn more about teaching, but confused about the process and your credentialing options?  Teaching with an emergency credential and need your teaching credential?  Please join us on Wednesday, March 22 at the Think College Now/International Community School Gymnasium from 4-6PM, at 2825 International Blvd., Oakland. 


    • Meet with representatives from more than ten institutions about their various teacher credentialing programs, including about programs that offer credentialing courses while you work. Learn about different types of programs, program structures, requirements, costs and timelines. 
    • Sit in on an OUSD-led information session that provides an overview of the paths to becoming a credentialed teacher, financial resources, and the application process for OUSD (held at 4:15 & 5:00).  
    • Talk to Recruiters who can help identify your next steps.

    Classroom Substitute Teaching

    Substitute teaching is a great way to get to know school communities and gain experience in classroom teaching.  If you have a Bachelor’s and have passed the CBEST, you may sign up for an interview below. Someone will be in touch to confirm your registration and interview details.

    In an effort to grow our own, we have partnered with local universities to provide talented and committed OUSD employees an opportunity to pursue a Special Education teaching credentialing while working. Candidates who are accepted into the cohort may take classes in Oakland and/or online and access unique benefits while working.
