Youth Empowerment School’s mission is to empower students by inspiring them to actively participate in their school community by learning and living our Empowerment Principles, being a part of Youth Court, Exhibitions, Student Government, and our Advisory Curriculum. Students leave YES with knowledge and skills in computer applications and modern technology. This will prepare them to take on the world in a post secondary experience, such as college or highly interesting jobs. Students will become critical thinkers, and become proficient public speakers. In addition to building the curriculum around empowering youth to make change happen in Oakland, we expect families to play a large role in decision making. The partnership between school and parent is paramount at YE S. We believe parents should be intimately involved in the education of their children.
