We are reaching out to parents, teachers, and students to take part in the Technology & Learning questionnaire. Our participation is essential in helping the district form a more complete picture of technology use for learning in your students’ lives. California Healthy Child Parent Survey

Date: February 3, 2016

RE: California Healthy Kids Survey

Dear Parents and Colleagues:

This week is the beginning of the California Healthy Kids Survey. The statewide survey provides valuable insights into our school’s strengths and also helps identify areas of need. Survey results are used to determine where funding sources can be directed to support our students including areas of Health and Wellness, Social Emotional, and Restorative Justice programs.  Considering the shortage in this area (e.g. counselors, social workers, etc.) the insights and decisions made as a result of the survey becomes critically important.

Kindly let your voice be heard by completing the survey. Doing so can make the difference towards ensuring that appropriate supports are in place for our students.

Thank your for supporting our children at Reach Academy.

Sincerely,

Natasha Moore,

Principal, Reach Academy

Thank you for participating. Your opinion matters.

PARENT WEEKLY MEMO JANUARY 2016

Announcements:

  • January is cold and flu season. Please help keep your child healthy by making sure they are dressed warmly and get plenty of rest!!
  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wanted us to live in a world free of hate and injustice. Please support your child in being a peacemakers and following our school rules
  • ATTENDANCE IS KEY!!! – Parents let’s set a goal of 100% attendance for the rest of the month. It’s important for students to be present and engaged every day to learn! Loss of instructional time results in poor performance and low student achievement. Remember, ATTENDANCE COUNTS!

"Family Engagement is More Important Than Parent Involvement"

We believe that family engagement is a shared responsibility of families, the school and the community helping students learn and achieve.  It is about making sure that parents and caregivers, school staff and leaders have the knowledge, confidence and resources needed to help children get a strong start and reach their full potential.

REACH Academy wants to learn your thoughts, feelings and attitudes on family engagement here. On January 25th we will send home a Family Engagement Survey and we need your voice! A link to the survey will also be posted here so you can take the survey online.

When the survey arrives, please take time to give us your feedback and return the survey as soon as possible.  Only one survey is needed per family and the class with the highest rate of return will receive a special surprise! The results of the survey will be shared at our Community Meeting on 2/18 @3pm. Help plan for 2016-17 school year.

We value what you think!
