  • What is the REACH Academy uniform policy?

    REACH is uniform school. The uniform policy is effective for the 2015-2016 school year. Basically, the policy is:

    ♦ Navy Blue top (solid color). Tops are for sale in office with school logo

    ♦Khaki bottoms or dark blue pants/jeans

    ♦Tennis/close toe shoes

  • Where can children be dropped off or picked up?

    To maintain safe traffic patterns in front of our main gates, we will provide a designated drop off zone and request that parents avoid double parking when dropping students off

  • Are parents welcome to visit during the school day?

    Yes, but for safety reasons, our school policy requires ALL visitors to sign in at the office first!

Message from the Principal

Attendance:  ATTENDANCE COUNTS!  It’s important for your child to come to school on time EVERY DAY!  All students should arrive daily by 8:15 am.
OTX Computer Give-Away and Internet Sign-Up for Families on Thursday, 11/19 from 3:00-6:00 pm in the Cafeteria – Please sign up in the office or with Ms. Alex! 
Mobile Classroom Computer Classes for Parents starting on Monday, 11/16:  Parents will develop technology skills and will be able to use the internet to have an impact on the academic success of their children. These skills include learning about Common Core, accessing  their student’s information (attendance, assignments, grades), helping their student to use the school’s web based reading programs at home, finding online school/education resources, and promoting internet safety. Classes will begin on Monday, 11/16.  Please note the available times for the class: 8:45am – 11:15 am – (12 -15 parents) or 8:45 – 2:15 pm (12 -15 parents).  Childcare is available.  Please sign up in the office. Space is limited!!
AN INFORMATION SESSION AND REGISTRATION will take place in the Parent Room on Monday, 11/9 and Tuesday, 11/10 @ 8:45. Come and meet the instructor!
The Family Literacy Institute is hosting a 1-day training for Family Literacy Teams in the District on Tuesday, 11/10 from 8 am - 3 pm at the library on 1021 81st Ave. The teams will assess present family engagement practices and achievement data, implement activities to positively impact reading success and evaluate progress. The REACH Family Literacy Teams will receive $2500 to implement a family literacy program that engages families in reading success. 10-15 parent leaders along with a Staff Family Literacy Team Coordinator are invited to participate. See Ms. Alex to participate! 
Community Event:  Making the Connection! – Verdese Carter Recreation Center – There will be fun activities for the entire family!  You will also have the opportunity to receive important information about health, education, safety and community involvement. This fun event will take place on Thursday, 11/12 from 2 – 4:30 pm.
Safety:  All parents, volunteers and SAFETY!!  All visitors and parents must sign-in the office first!  You must have a visitor’s badge to be on the school ca VISITOR’S BADGE. Please do not go directly to classrooms to minimize disruptions.
Uniforms:  REACH Academy is a uniform school - All students must wear uniforms daily.  Please see the office if you need to purchase khaki pants and polo shirts.
Volunteers Needed! Please make a difference by donating your time and talents.  The goal is for 100% of parent(s) or caregiver(s) to donate 10 hours during the school year.  We need lunchroom and classroom helpers.  Please see Ms. Alex!
